Churches & Faith

I've got more pictures than words to say for this post. It's five in the morning, and I'm not exactly in the mood for a narrative. Wasn't called for work yesterday, so I finally spent a weekend just doing nothing in particular. Afternoon was spent lazing at home waiting for a call, and by evening I was outta the house 'cos it's just not me to stay at home throughout the entire day.

What used to be hills of earth is now flat plains awaiting development. 8 years have gone by just like that. Appalling but so real.

First stop was Bugis. From there I headed down to town, intending to shop for a pair of earphones but by then the shops were already closed, so I did a 'lil exploring.

Saint Andrew's Cathedral in full glory

With Swisshotel in the background

God receives all with open doors, but I chose to walk out again. I'm still wavering in my search of religious faith. I feel uncertain over this commitment and faith. How strong is my faith?

The old Capitol Theatre

Forsaken and forgotten. I wonder what the relevant authorities intend to do with this piece of heritage - to destroy or to preserve? I kept walking and I found myself at another sanctuary.

I've heard so much about Chijmes from the older generation, and I finally found my way there. It's no feat, but at least now I know what it actually is. They got a couple of nice chill-out bars there, so I believe that I will find myself there again pretty soon.

Not another

Cathedral Of The Good Shepard

Are there really just so many places of worship in town, or is this a sign?

Singapore Arts Museum

And guess what I found there? There was a camera crew wrapping up after shooting a scene, and they had something cool with them for the shoot.

An Elise!

This car costs well over $200k, and the monthly installments will set one back by at least $2500/month. If I really get rich one day, apart from the RX-8 I'd love to have this car. Dreams aside, reality sets in. From there, I walked to Parklane, where I spent sometime playing DrumMania before heading back.

Didn't want to go home so early, so I caught a late night movie (Operation Undercover). There's nothing spectacular about the storyline. It's about the police planting undercovers in the triads to gather evidence for a crack-down. Sounds familiar? Bingo, think Infernal Affairs.

Come to think of it, it's been almost a year since I watched a movie alone. The last time I did that? November 15. Ah memories...

After Burner Climax

Intended to do some shopping today, but ended up having a religious talk over dinner with my classmates. If you're wondering why I consider it religious, I think you should stop here 'cos I'm nowhere holy and saintly XD

X and I tried out our hands at the latest flight combat game, After Burner Climax. This game really rocks, literally. Unlike its ancient predecessor which turns and spins at sharper angles, this version only rotates and spins approximately 30 degrees. However, the improved graphics make up for whatever shortcomings it has.

The game play is pretty fast-paced, though Irddy and Hanz feels that the previous version was faster. For a first-time flight combat player, this got me kinda hooked on it. I enjoyed rolling and dodging the bleedy enemy missiles while taking 'em down. By entering the Climax mode by pushing the throttle to the max, time slows down, allowing you to lock on to the enemy fighters and approaching projectiles.

After Burner Climax is scheduled to hit the US in December, so we're really fortunate to have it in Singapore now - unfortunate for my wallet though. One credit at Marina Square costs $2, and it lasts approximately three minutes for me. Money should never be an issue for enjoyment, and I'm gonna be playing this pretty frequently 'cos Causeway Point has it!

ClimaAfter Burner, here I comeeeee!

This is The Life

Partying into the wee hours of the morning is tiring, but fun. For most of the people I partied with yesterday, it was their first time. Nevertheless we had great fun and I'm glad that everyone enjoyed themselves.

I broke my no-skipping-classes commandment today, but it's all worth it for a night of great music and fun. I like the music on Wednesdays, but I got morning classes on Thursday mornings =( Still, I guess that it's kinda okay to skip 2 hours of lecture every once in awhile =P

We're probably gonna go again next month, and the next month is only days away from now XD

Hari Raya Puasa

Finally the time has come to break fast, yay! Not that it actually affects me though, but at least eating places won't be fully packed when I have late dinners. Most of my time is still spent outside either having fun or working, which I both enjoy.

Not too long ago I was at Vivo City again. The place didn't change within this short period, but I still wanted to take pictures. Beautiful images should always be kept around.

Chocolates!!!

Went shopping after classes today, and I saw the three flavours lined up side by side. I like milk chocolate more than dark chocolate, so the white's for me (not that I'm gonna buy it though). Didn't really buy anything else other than a coat, and that's all for today's breeze-tru.

Course Feedback

Qns: What do you have to do when your course is nearing its end?

Ans: Write a fantastic feedback on your lecturer.

Check out the latest rage created by NTU students who find their lecturer too sexy.

Sweet Toys

What happens when the LG Chocolate meets the Apple iPod? They screw around and hence the Samsung K5 is procreated. Check it out right now, right here.

Alike the Chocolate, it has touch sensitive navigation keys. It's good, and bad. With a sensitive touchpad, you can no longer put your player in your pocket without locking the controls by its 'hold' button.

A 4GB model would cost approximately S$375. Not exactly cheap, but look at its inbuilt speakers, a one of a kind! Online reviews have clearly stated some of its flaws. Under sunlight, its OLED display can hardly be seen, which is a common problem among mobile phones.

Its battery life lasts 30 hours, which is slightly better than the nano (6 hours if you play music through its speakers). It has an integrated FM Radio, and even an alarm clock. Way cool. At 104g, it weighs more than twice the nano. It's also bigger than the nano, mainly because of its inbuilt speakers. Still, I'm pretty impressed by it and I'm toying with the idea of getting one. It's crazy, I know. Now that I mentioned the iPod nano, here's some news.

Red is the new nano

Red nanos are available in 4GB, alike its coloured siblings. The red nano is a special edition nano that was released to support Africa's fight against AIDS. Apple donates a certain amount to a fund for every red nano sold. Nevermind that. Red is sweet, and I got something else to back up what I just said.

Reddd

Nira is the covergirl for November's issue of Maxim. She's red, hot. Need I say more?

White Chocolate

Weeks back when I heard about the white LG Chocolate, I was skeptical over it because I thought that the classic black was the looker. Guess that I'm not exactly right about that.

The Chocolate

White Chocolate

Judge for yourself. Different people have different preferences, but the White Chocolate does look... pure and elegant. It reminds me of the earlier generations of iPods actually. I may need a new phone after all... XD

Strawberry flavoured!

LG also released the pink version a few weeks ago. Its stock is rather limited, and not many shops carry it. It is definitely more premium, compared to the pink V3 which is ubiquitous. One thing's for sure is that it certainly doesn't look so dull. It looks too bright actually.

Strawberry and Cream

This picture is more accurate in colour tone. It is NEON pink. It'd be cool if I can get my hands on a White Chocolate. Pity I'm not a Malaysian, otherwise I would try my luck at KennySia's Chocolate giveaway.

Peaceful Days?

I'm trying to get my act together. This is the last semester, and I wanna make it a good one. Went to buy some stationery yesterday, and that made me $40 poorer. I'm a spendthrift, I know, but I can't just revert to the old thrifty me overnight ya.

Now that school has started, I have lots of free time on hand (on weekdays). It's been months since I had dinner with my family. Went out for a walk with my parents yesterday, and ended up at the Yacht Club. Armed with a 5 megapixel camera phone, I can finally take decent pictures of the straits.

My silhouette

Today's lessons ended before noon. I had to run an errand for my brother and that brought me to Sim Lim Square. Played Drum Mania the whole afternoon till my fingers hurt. But it did felt good to know that I've improved a little. When I went home, there was a letter for me.

This is it

Front & Back

The new MOS VIP card is a mini (same size as my debit mini). I can now sign in two guests instead of one. Other privileges include a birthday package ($450 for 2 bottles of spirits, 2 bottles of champagne, 1 birthday cake, 1 table, and waiver of 12 cover charges) and loyalty points. Quite reasonable I say. MOS here I come again.
