Pussy Washer

Suggestive title inspired by Gizmodo.

Short update:

I'm back at VivoCity, again. Memories are all I have, and every once so often a familiar song revokes certain remembrances. *shrugs*

Pressed

7 Final Assignments.

2 days of part-time work.

1 friend's birthday celebration to attend

1 written test.

1 CL3 Practical Lesson.

1 CL3 TP Practical Test.

1 RSAF COMPASS Test.

1 bullshit visit by Tony Tan.

15 days left.
As of such, plans for our planned videos have been put on hold. I won't be updating this space frequently over the next two weeks.

- I didn't go through 1000 days and nights just to roll over and surrender at the end.

Escape To The Sky彡!

Gay MV is in the process of filming. Details are confidential as of now.

Run People Run prank video is scheduled to commence this Friday, and should be complete pretty soon. This is a pretty bo liao video in which some of us are gonna run across the fountain (the one near the entrance of NYP). Legends have it that students who step into the pool would be fined $50. We don't know how true that is.

Project Toilet Paper is a pretty wacky concept all together. I don't want to go into details yet. It's no fun if everyone knows what we're gonna do. Hell they might even beat us to doing it. So as for now, let your imagination run wild. Will divulge more details when the date draws nearer.

And, download of the entire DrumMania collection is complete. It doesn't help much now, but it's more of a collection than anything else at the moment.

Chapters of You and I

Feels wrong when fragments of my memory bring a smile,
When the void you made should have left sorrows.
And as I walk through memory lane once more,
I wonder now if your departure was for good.

Do you remember that night under a thousand stars?
The cold that struck hard then never went away.
I looked at her with a pearl streaming down my cheek,
And as she walked away you followed without any hesitation.

Time passed and when you came bringing elation and sanctuary,
I lived well with a passion driving me for the better.
But alas, the bliss you gave was not to last,
For I knew not how to cherish your precious gift.

On a windy night under the cover of the clouds,
I left the harbor after growing tired of its tranquility
With tears in her eyes and the snuffing of the candles,
I wrote yet another regret in my chapter of stupid mistakes.

Believe it or not karma does exist,
"What comes around goes around" as they say.
The hurt that I left in her heart returned doubly hard,
And through the hard way I understood how she felt then.

At the foot of the road we stood, waiting.
As the minute of separation drew nearer,
The agonising feeling of becoming strangers was unbearable.
I had to tear away from her, as you watched from a corner.

I cannot go on like I never knew you,
But yet I never really felt you till you were gone.
So many nights I stayed up wondering where you were,
And when you would come back and make me one again.

On nights like these I find myself walking nowhere,
Looking for a reflection of my former self.
The endless roads draw deep into the horizon,
Leading me on as you laugh from a distance.

After so many years fate would see me
Running right into her when I least expect it.
Like a moth drawn to the naked flame,
I still find her smile ever-so-lovely.

"Some things never change" we agreed,
Like how she is always late,
And how small my eyes are and will always be.
Though apart I'm glad that she has you with her.

Perhaps I lost you for good when I lost her.
Or maybe you are somewhere further down the road.
Who knows?
- Rawbean

Jackasses

NYP Jackasses sliding down the railing

I was bored. And when I'm terribly bored, I tend to find crazy and stupid things to do. A jackass don't need reasons to do things. We're looking for more crazy things to do that might be potentially neck-breaking.

Bailey...

That's my furry little dog trying to earn himself a treat. I love him lots, but I don't want to set the precedence of spoiling him with treats. That's why he likes my parents more.

I like his little paws

And I love jelly beans

The iPhone

The iPhone family

iPhone commercial

Cool isn't it? Just that both of the above are mocks. What, surely you didn't believe that the iPhone could grate cheese, right? It's been barely days since the announcement of iPhone, but bored people around the world have put their creativity to work.

I actually had a couple of customers asking about the iPhone at work today. C'mon, the iPhone was just ANNOUNCED, they don't expect it to already be out in stores, do they? But anyway, the iPhone is expected to be in stores around June. In the U.S, that is. If you're awaiting it, you're gonna have to wait till next year before it reaches Singapore.

Join (RED)

Remember the red iPod nano that I mentioned about not too long ago?

Meet the red V3

With Motorola joining the manifesto, things are only getting redderbetter. Well if you ask me, I'm not too bothered about this right now, but it is good to know what The Red Manifesto is about. Why is it good to know? I don't know.

Other products that carry the red tag

Besides the red V3, I bring news about several other upcoming phones that have just been announced. Announced as in revealed, but their launch date and other details are still much obscure.

Sony Ericsson W200

The W200 is the budget version of Sony Ericsson's Walkman phone series. It looks quite similar to the W800i in its design and colour scheme. The W200 however, does not come with an integrated Bluetooth, and its camera is only VGA-quality.

Sony Ericsson W880

Pretty thin, but not yet Ultra thin

Nothing much is known about the W880 yet.

Motorola RIZR Z6

The Z3's twin

The new slider is part of the new MOTOMUSIC platform. It seems that Motorola would keep their marketing strategy of producing slightly updated version to their existing handsets instead of making entirely new mobiles from scratch. The prospects of a new group of music-oriented devices sounds exciting since this is the current trend on the market and Motorola didn't have such mobiles up until now.

The Motorola RIZR Z6 will run on a new Linux-Java-based user interface and promises enhanced music experience featuring connectivity with Windows Media Player 11 and supporting Janus DRM. It will have the same design as its predecessor RIZR Z3 with almost the same size but it will weigh 10 g less. The new RIZR Z6 will have an improved display - this time with QVGA resolution, but it will retain the 2 megapixel camera of the predecessor. We hope that there would be some improvement in the camera quality department too since the RIZR Z3 deserved some criticism along that line of functionality.
- Quoted from GSMArena.com

Somehow I don't really like it whenever the word "DRM" is mentioned. Is it just me? Anyway, I'm finally back to work. It's been a tiring but fun day. Been thinking about some things of late. I haven't reached a conclusion, and I don't know if it actually even matters. Why have I become indecisive?

Apple Reveals iPhone

iPhone

As of January 10 2007, Apple Computer Inc will be known as Apple Inc. That saying, Apple is moving away from just their R&D on Macs. The iPod was the first step of their diversification, and the iPhone is their testament of their readiness to take on more.

Profiles

Here are the phone specs:

Screen size: 3.5 inches
Screen res: 320 by 480 pixels at 160 ppi
Input method: Multi-touch
Operating system: OS X
Storage: 4GB or 8GB
GSM: Quad-band (MHz: 850, 900, 1800, 1900)
Wireless data: Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) + EDGE + Bluetooth 2.0
Camera: 2.0 megapixels
Battery: Up to 5 hours Talk / Video / Browsing, Up to 16 hours Audio playback
Dimensions: 4.5 x 2.4 x 0.46 inches
Weight: 4.8 ounces / 135 grams

The coolest thing about the iPhone is probably its touch sensitive interface. Unlike the Chocolate, the iPhone's navigation is entirely based on its touch sensor. That's right, no keys, from what I gather. Think of it as an iPod Video with a phone feature. The screen's orientation is automatically set to landscape when you rotate the iPhone. In terms of user interface, it looks pretty user-friendly, with similar interfaces to the iPod.

Song Playlist

Video in motion

The tidbits above are from Gizmodo. Meanwhile, check out this iPhone video from Engadget.

Happy Birthday...

Candles on ice cream

If my observation served me well, you don't like cakes, that's why I chose ice cream over a cheese cake. One candle is shorter than the others because I couldn't find multiple short ones, so I sliced off some of it...

You might have had a bad day (partly because of me), so I hoped to make it better. I wanted to bring a smile to you. Guess I failed, badly.

Sorry for screwing up big time today.

I'm sorry that I never seem to get things right.

Incomplete

Bean went shopping for groceries today. It's gonna be a long week(end) with my parents in Thailand, so I needed to be prepared for a long in-house camp.

Groceries

Junk food actually

Didn't manage to get limeade last night from any of the 24 convenience stores, so I decided to stock up on it when I had the chance to. A Bean ain't a GinBean without lime. It's Saturday, and it's a good time to relax and listen to songs over a couple of drinks. I decided to clear out my drawers, and I found myself staring at past memories...

From you to me

Remember the smiles,

And forget the rest.

Words can't replace some things

Perhaps they are just irreplacable

The hours spent side by side

The sweet notes we exchanged

My drawer doesn't have space for all of these anymore. I kept the things that are significant to me, and dumped out the ones that no longer mean anything. For a moment I felt as though I couldn't bear to leave them, but it's been years, and the ones that had to go weren't meaningful to begin with. That saying, I kept most of the above. While running through my stuff, I found some of my old class photographs.

Appended: Resolutions for 2007

Last year, I made the mistake of not having any resolutions. As a result, I feel as though I haven't accomplished anything meaningful. It feels weird, my body is tired but a part of me just refuses to retire for the night. Perhaps it's a sign that I should do this before I sleep.

Let's start from what I had earlier on...

Resolutions for 2007

#1. Obtain my class 3 license finally.
I've failed my traffic police test once already. Maybe I won't pass it the second time around, but I'm definitely gonna pass it while I'm still a teenager.
#2. Graduate with a diploma, even if semester 7 is in place.
This one's a no-brainer isn't it. Though I don't have much love for game programming, I still need a basic qualification to justify for the 3 years wasted in school.
#3. Refrain from ever lighting up my first cigarette.
Throughout the whole nineteen years of my life, I've inhaled lots of smoke, handled many cigarettes, but never took a single puff. And I don't see why things should be changed. I'm gonna remain a non-smoker this year, next, and forever.
#4. Drink less.
"A friend of mine once claimed he only drinks on three days. Those three days are yesterday, today and tomorrow." - Quoted from KennySia's blog.
Well no point setting such a resolution if I'm not gonna keep up to it. So I'll make a realistic one. I will only drink on three types of days. Those three are yesteron weekends, eve of public holidays, and on special occasions.
#5. Sleep early.
As Mom said, I'm turning into a vampire/zombie/whateveryoucallthat. I shall sleep early and try to lead a healthier lifestyle. My definition of early would be going to bed BY 2am on weekdays, 3am on weekends and eve of public holidays. This excludes late nights out.
#6. Save some money.
Save $100/month. This means splurging less on good food and entertainment *sulks*
This should be all of the realistic resolutions that I can think of. I've got one more, but it is rather unrealistic due to its unpredictable nature... That's all, time for bed!

Flareon, I Choose You!

Front View

Spent half the day stoning and working on my 3D model. It looks low poly and angular, but sadly I'm no MayaWhore. For me, I'm satisfied with it already. Might not be a piece of art, but I had fun doing it. It's not complete yet, as I haven't UV-mapped the texture. That will be left for tomorrow, when I can get the lecturer to save my ass.

Side Profile

Angled View

I like the side view so much more than its front. Anyway, I worked on my model till late evening around 8 before realising that poor Bailey hasn't been walked or fed. Dad entrusted the responsibility to me, and I felt really bad over forgetting it altogether. Took him for a long walk, and we ran around the neighborhood until I felt hungry.

Dad cut Bailey's nail too deep this morning, and when Bailey got home after his walk, he left his cute bloody paw prints all over the place. So hungry me had to clean up the bloodstains, comb him, and feed him before I could feed myself. Bailey refused to stay still, and that meant more work >.<

Had my McDinner minutes ago, but I'm still hungry! Bleah my wallet ain't keep me alive for long if I STILL don't receive my pay for November. And oh, Bailey's birthday is coming soon =P My lazy little old man is gonna turn 8 years old this coming Friday.

A Salt-licked New Year

Spent this year counting down at the same place I was at last year. The only difference is that last year I was there with my friends, and this year I was there with my family friends. We had a potluck dinner and there was plenty of food and booze to go around.

I had Baileys, followed by a Guizhou liquor called Maotai, a draught, and Vodka and some Chivas. Needless to say, I got pretty intoxicated at the end of it. Half-drunk, not drunk 'cos I could still get home and play DotA without my character walking zig-zag-edly XD

Catfish

Sat by the marina and did a little fishing while waiting for the countdown. My brother caught a small catfish. I didn't have any luck though. After a while, fireworks started flowering across the straits. Malaysia's clock always seem to be a few minutes ahead of ours. Perhaps it's their way of showing that they want to be ahead of us XD

Me with a hand-flares

Bright red

At midnight we lit the place up with hand flares and sounded the boats' air horns. Children were playing with sparklers. Somehow that reminded me of a song by White Lion, entitled When The Children Cry. This concludes my little countdown episode.

Preparing for the voyage

This morning, we powered our way to Pulau Sekudu a.k.a Frog Island, which is opposite Pulau Ubin. From here on, there will be lots of pictures to complement this post.

Looking back at the Yacht Club

Narcissism at its best

At our destination, Frog Island

After reaching, we dropped anchor and I swam across with Derek to secure a crossing for the others. The waters were very shallow closer to shore so the boat could not berth nearby. Did some exploring on the island before we started our hunt for oysters and clams. I left my phone on the boat, so I decided to swim back to retrieve it.

In the sea again

Mud

And rocks

The entire island is pretty much made up of rocks, sand, and mud. From the above picture you can see how bloody muddy the beach is. So anyway Pulau Sekudu got its alias Frog Island because of a particular piece of rock that looks like a frog.

The rock that looks lika Frog

Back to what I was saying, Derek and I were hunting for oysters. Not for its pearl, but for its white juicy flesh. I don't take fresh oysters straight out from the shell, but he loves it.

Oyster sighted

De-shelling in process

Flesh revealed... Oyster no more

Other than rocks and oysters, there are a lot of other marine organisms residing on the dump of an island too.

Fiddler Crab

Fan-type Shellfish in the ground

Harvested

An average-sized one

Blue Coral

Cluster of Brain Coral

Withdrawn Anemone

Purple Coral

Pink Coral

Sponge

Baby Flower Crab

Baby Eel

Adolescent Flower Crab

Some kinda Mud Crab

As I said the island is mainly made of mud and rocks. From certain views, the island looks a lot like a wasteland with nothing much on it. See for yourself.

Wasteland

Is that a... Lighthouse?

Sun-kissed

See those white spots on the rocks? Know that big juicy osyters once lived there...

Mr Frog & Bean

Notice that the rock even has got an eye and a smile? That is the work of some bored creative people, no doubt.

Squishy

One careless step and you'll find yourself in a squishy situation. It feels really yucky beyond description. Just *bleah* kinda feeling, you know?

Cute little heart

Leaving a mark

On some days I feel that I'll never be able to love again.

But I'm certain that maybe one day, I'll have someone's name to carve with mine =)

No work is too tedious with a good beer

After spending the entire afternoon at Frog Island, we headed back to catch the setting sun. On our return trip, I sprawled on the front deck, enjoying the strong breeze. As I lay on the deck, staring at the skies, I thought about nothing, just enjoying the experience.

How does it feel to be at the front deck of a power craft? The feeling is rather difficult to describe - The wind dancing around your entire body, the boat skimming across the water, swaying side ways every once in a while. Even now I still feel as though I'm bobbing on the water, and no, I'm not drunk.

The place I've come to know for years. Come to think of it, this is the place I seek shelter from the heartbreaks each time. It's not a place of sorrow, but a haven from my daily worries. This year, Bean is salt-licked and sun-kissed. Let's hope that the coming days of 2007 will be filled with joy =)
