Minor Updates

On a Side Note...
And so continues my quest of flight. 7 weeks to go.

'First' book-out. Back to 'recruit' days once again. It is not easy, but it is necessary to endure and overcome it in order for greater things to come. Training is bearable, and I'm glad to be able to pass my IPPT. My main concern is to remain injury-free, since completing BMT isn't exactly difficult. It will be over soon.

Here are some pictures which I had intended to post up a while ago:

Giant Clam

This is how an adult Giant Clam looks like when it is alive:

If you ever visit dive spots, please do not kill or remove marine life from its habitat. It may sound contradicting at this point, but note that I am not responsible for the hunting of the giant clam. I collect only dead specimens. The shell above was a gift from a friend.

It's been awhile since I posted anything on my pets, so here goes:

Quote of the day

Experience is not what happens to a man.

It's what a man does with what happens to him.

A Legend's Legacy

On a Side Note...
I got a 2 day MC for having mild bronchitis, an extended weekend! =D

Several weeks ago, I read an email which was being circulated, regarding a superhero. No, his name is not Sephiroth (and neither is he a SOLDIER 1st Class who is infused with mako), but that doesn't make him any less of a hero. He hails from a noble lineage, and his father is nothing short of a local hero himself. The above-mentioned hero is turning 18 soon, and everyone around has high expectations of him.

Until recently, this person was only a small-time neighborhood hero known to the locals living around him. All this changed when Gizmodo.com, an international tech blog featured him on their page. Our local superhero has now become an instant international celebrity. Wow, can I apply to be his side-kick, pretty please?

ALL HAIL TO THE MIGHTY HERO:

PicLens

On a Side Note...
Check out my new OCBC shiny.

Mambo, No. 5

The O'

Tired of browsing through DevianArt/Flickr/Google/Photobucket/Yahoo page by page or by scrolling down? If you are, then here's a really cool alternative which will impress you. Enter PicLens, an awesome add-on for the Mozilla Firefox browser (sorry to the dull I.E users).

PicLens allow you to view the images on compatible websites in a 3D view as you browse through. When you stop at a picture, it instantly (depending on your connection speed) sharpens the image. Anyway, you will enjoy zipping through the images. As you scroll down with speed, the images tilt to an angle, making it seems as though you're flying pass them.

Like That

Awesome huh? On my Photobucket, each page is set to display 20 pictures. But with PicLens, I can browse through an entire folder with just a click! This quality recommendation is only possible thanks to kuanyikun. Remember to give him a pat on the back if you drop by his page!

Hello Pinky!

On a Side Note...
Shawn and Lai Hui threw a combined 21st birthday celebration last night. Some people didn't have the heart to turn up, bleah~

I've just completed Crisis Core, which invokes sadness upon the ending. If you have played Final Fantasy VII, you might understand the feeling when the hero dies. Sad.

I'm now playing DJ Max Portable 2, and Hello Pinky is my favourite track from the game. DJ Max Portable 2 is similar to the arcade game Beatmania, and it also originates from Korea (though not by Konami). DJ Max started off as an online game, which gained much popularity (not in Singapore though). It gained so many fans that concerts could materialise, with the singers from the game performing live.

Check out the trailer and gameplay video:

Hello Pinky, 4B mode

The art and animation is very tastefully done. Though it's a native Korean game, the game offers 2 other languages, namely Japanese and English. DJ Max Portable 2 has not been released in the US or Europe, and thus it is rather limited to Asia.

In Game

There are tonnes of characters, songs, gear, and musical notes to be unlocked, which adds replay value to the game. On top of that, you can also go head-to-head with a friend in a Network Battle, which also allows you to unlock certain items. There is also a function to play the songs on the earlier game, DJ Max Portable. I'm off to buy my DJ Max Portable =P

Any Spare Baby (Cot)?

On a Side Note...
I'm geared up and ready to go back to basics...

Not too long ago, Mom sent out an email to her friends, to ask if anyone has a spare baby cot as the only one is at Jeslyn's place, and it's inconvenient to move it from her place to ours frequently so it might be a better idea to have one over here as well. Seems like things didn't quite go the way she expected. Let's look at the correspondence between her and her friends:
Elsie ONG wrote:

Dear friend,

Do you know of anyone who have spare baby to offer.

Thank you.
She received several replies, which were rather amusing:
From: qystan

I'm sorry I don't know of anyone with a spare baby.

You can try the adoption centres, they don't have spare babies, just unwanted ones.

From: Sujit

I may have a couple but claiming ownership may lead to too many complicated legal and, more importantly, financial implications. So for now, answer remains "No, don't have."

Cheers

From: Ozzy

SPARE BABY TO OFFER? YES!

Name: Chua Ozzy.
Age: Unknown.
Sex: Male.
Location: Singapore.

She sure has humorous friends around. We went to visit Geneve yesterday evening. Her name is rather uncommon, and I visited several websites before I found the meaning to her name. Geneve means of the race of women in French. Doesn't quite ring a bell to me, but I speculate that it means that she should possess the traits of a feminine and virtuous lady when she grows up.
